About Richard
Richard leads the High value manufacturing part of New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Investment team. He is responsible for developing the team’s strategy, developing a strong pipeline of investment activity and delivering investments that are of economic benefit to New Zealand. Richard is based in Wellington.

Background and expertise
Richard has 16 years of international business and investment experience. Previously he worked as an analyst and fund manager for Prudential in New Zealand and Great Britain and covered various sectors including manufacturing, retail, mining and oil and gas.
More recently Richard was founder and CEO of UK Explorer Ltd, a technology start-up that provided remote internet access. Clients included BAA plc (Heathrow Airport), Accor Group, Holiday Inns and the International Youth Hostel Association. Before his return to New Zealand in 2009, Richard successfully negotiated the sale of UK Explorer to a London based private equity firm.
Richard has a Master of Commerce (Hons) majoring in finance and a Bachelor of Science majoring in physics from Auckland University. He joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Investment team in 2009.

Koustubh Gadgil

About Koustubh
Wellington based Koustubh has been part of the manufacturing and wood processing team since 2002. This team developed and implemented the European value-added strategy for the New Zealand wood processing sector. Koustubh has also been responsible for managing and advising other significant investment projects involving New Zealand and overseas companies.
Background and expertise
Koustubh’s experience with investment banking, began with Lazard Creditcapital Limited, a subsidiary of Lazard & Co. Ltd, UK. He later worked for boutique Indian investment banks where he was involved in corporate advisory work, capital structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and equity and debt raising.
Transactions Koustubh handled included cross-border joint ventures, advisory work on foreign direct investment, cross-border lending, capital structuring, and advice for infrastructure projects.
Koustubh joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Investment team in September 2001.

Guy Tapley

About Guy
Guy has responsibility for developing and executing New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's proposition for high value manufacturing investors. Guy has a particular expertise in working with investors in aerospace and related industries. Guy is based in Wellington.
Background and expertise
Guy joined New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Investment team in 2001. Since then he has assisted a range of overseas companies establish export-based operations in New Zealand. Guy offers considerable skill and experience, gained throughout his career working in economic, trade and investment development.
Guy holds a Master of Arts (Hons) from the University of Canterbury, and a Diploma in International Marketing awarded by the Export Institute of New Zealand. He has also trained in international business attraction with the Australian Graduate School of Management, and in negotiation on an INSEAD course at the University of Canterbury School of Business, New Zealand.
